The Proximel Silicone Bordered Foam Dressing gives small wounds a soft, absorbent cover without the higher cost of some similar silicone foam dressings. The 4″ x 4″ size is made for wounds that need more than a basic gauze pad, but do not need a large dressing. The 2.4″ x 2.4″ pad sits over the wound area, while the silicone border helps keep the dressing in place.
This dressing is a good choice for low to medium levels of drainage. The foam center absorbs fluid, while the outer layer helps protect the area from outside moisture and bacteria. The silicone adhesive is gentle on the skin, so dressing changes are less harsh than stronger adhesives.
